Yerevan-Garni-Geghard-Yerevan
Breakfast. Departure to Geghard monastery. Geghard (spear) is a monastery complex, a unique architectural monument in the province Kotayk in Armenia. It is situated in the canyon of the mountain river Azat, 40 km south-west from Yerevan. It is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The full name of the monastery complex is Geghardavank, meaning "Monastery of the spear", originates from the spear which had wounded Jesus at the Crucifixion, allegedly brought to Armenia by Apostle Thaddeus, and stored amongst many other relics. Now it is displayed in the Echmiadzin treasury. Azat is a river in Armenia, the left tributary of Aras. Its source is on the western slope of the Geghama mountains at the confluence of the rivers Goght and Voskedjur. In the middle course of the Azat river was built the Azat reservoir. In 2000 the river was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Departure to Garni - pagan temple founded in the first century. 24 columns have symbolized 24 hours of a day. Temple is dedicated to the god of sun Mithra. Return to Yerevan. Overnight in Yerevan.

Yerevan-Dvin-Tatev-Goris
Breakfast. Departure to Dvin. Vostan Dvin was a large commercial city and the capital of early medieval Armenia. It was the most important city in the region Vostan Dvin and in the province Ayrarat. It was built in 335. Since then, the city had been used as the primary residence of the Armenian kings of the Arsacid dynasty. It was situated north of the previous ancient capital of Armenia, the city of Artaxata, along the banks of the Metsamor River, 35 km to the south of modern Yerevan. Dvin is in the tentative list of UNESCO World Heritage Site. Departure to Tatev, monastery of the Armenian Apostolic Church, situated on the south-western side of Armenia, near the village Tatev, not far from Goris, 280 km from Yerevan. Near Tatev is situated another Armenian monastery – Tatevi Anapat. There are 2 variants of the translation of the word Tatev from the old Armenian: «give me wings» and «fly». Tatev is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Tatevi Mets Anapat (Tatev's desert) is a monastery of the Armenian Apostolic Church, situated in Armenia, in the region of Syunik, near the village Tatev. The monastery is built in the 17-18th centuries. Since 1995 the monastery is in the tentative list of UNESCO World Heritage Site. Overnight in Goris.

Yerevan-Noravank-Yerevan
Breakfast. Departure to Noravank (translated from Armenian «a new monastery») – a monastery complex, founded in the 13th century, located 122 km from Yerevan in a narrow gorge made by the Arpa River, near the town of Yeghegnadzor, Armenia. The monastery is best known for its red rocks and two-storey Surb Astvatsatsin (Holy Mother of God) church with his narrow stone-made staircase. In the 13th-14th centuries the monastery became a residence of Syunik's bishops and, consequently, a major religious and cultural center of Armenia closely connected with many of the local seats of learning, especially with Gladzor's famed university and library. Since 1996 Noravank is in the tentative list of UNESCO World Heritage Site. Return to Yerevan. Overnight in Yerevan.

Yerevan-Zvartnots-Etchmiadzin-Yerevan
Breakfast. Departure to Zvartnots. Zvartnots Cathedral (celestial angels) is a 7th-century Armenian cathedral, that is situated near Yerevan and Vaghashapat (Etchmiadzin). The cathedral was built under the guidance of Catholicos Nerses III, who wanted to transfer the patriarchal place from Dvin to Vagharshapat. Zvartnots remained standing until the end of the 10th century. The ruins of Zvartnots was added to the UNESCO World Heritage list in 2000. Departure to Etchmiadzin. The Etchmiadzin cathedral is the mother church of the Armenian Apostolic Church and the catholicosate since 1441. The cathedral is situated in Vagharshapat, in Armavir province. Along with medieval churches located nearby - the churches of St. Hripsime and St. Gayane - the cathedral was listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2000. Return to Yerevan. Breakfast. Visit of Matenadaran or Erebuni museum. Matenadaran orthe Institute of ancient manuscripts named after Mesrop Mashtots is located in Yerevan and possesses one of the greatest collections of medieval books and manuscripts in the world. Departuretothemuseum-fortressErebuni. Themuseumwasestablishedin 1968. The opening of the museum was timed to coincide with the 2750th anniversary of Yerevan. The museum stands at the foot of the Arin Berd hill. The museum building imitates the construction of an Urartian palace. One can visit the ruins of the fortress Erebuni not far from the museum too. City tour in Yerevan: visit to National Academic Theater of Opera and Ballet, Cascade, Swan Lake, Northern Avenue. Overnight in Yerevan.

Yerevan-Haghpat-Sanahin-Yerevan
Breakfast. Departure to Haghpat – a working monastery in the village Haghpat in the northern site of Armenia, 10 km from the town Alaverdi. The monastery is described as a masterpiece of religious architecture and a major center of learning in the Middle Ages. Visit of the monastery Sanahin from the 10-13th centuries. Sanahin had a scriptorium, where books were copied. The buildings in Sanahin from the different times create an architectural ensemble. The complex consists of 2 churches – Surb Astvatsatsin (Holy Mother of God – in 934) and Surb Amenaprkich (in 957-962; one can see here a sculptural group of Smbat and Kyurike kings with a model of the temple in hands). Haghpat monastery, together with Sanahin monastery was placed on UNESCO's World Heritage List in 1996. ReturntoYerevan. Overnight in Yerevan.
